How to rotate shoes across training days
Two pairs beat one, but not for the reason the shoe wall says. Foam recovers slower than you do.

Midsole foam compresses on every footstrike and takes about a day to decompress fully. Run on it daily and you're training on a flatter, deader shoe than the one you bought. One study put injury risk 39% lower in runners who rotated more than one pair.
The rotation that works: one cushioned pair for easy days, one firmer pair for quality, and never the same shoe two days running. Retire on feel plus mileage, not mileage alone.
